Shilan Mistry

Shilan is pursuing a DPhil in Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford.

Shilan holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Mathematics and Probability from McGill University in Canada.  His research interests include the development of catastrophe models to quantify risk and uncertainty associated with natural hazards through the use of predictive, data-driven models.  He is interested in the statistical nature of extreme events in natural systems, such as climatic records, earthquake catalogues, and biomedical signals.
