Claire O’Connor
Claire O’Connor is dedicated to finding and facilitating solutions that will lead to sustainable economic development. Most recently, she has focused on the transition to a low carbon world from positions at The Carbon Trust, and Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection and Climate Reality Project. Before recently moving to London, Claire spent the past two years based in Washington DC promoting the U.N. climate change negotiations and U.S. legislative efforts on clean energy and climate change. Past roles have included Director of Performance Management for Mayor of Los Angeles and Director of Policy for the British Labour Party based in London. Claire worked on international economic development as a recent Fellow at the Aspen Institute and as a Transatlantic Fellow with the German Marshall Fund in 2005, building on time spent in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has worked on various projects with McKinsey & Co, the Center for American Progress, the University of Cambridge Sustainability Leadership Program, and the National Democratic Institute. She holds an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (2004) and MSc. in Social Policy from the London School of Economics (1997).
