Dr Flavia Frangetto

Flavia Frangetto visited the Smith School as a Policy Fellow in October 2008.

Flavia’s research focuses on legal support toward sustainability for open access to global green business, a progressive and faster option for dealing with environmental problems and their long-term negative effects now rather than waiting to solve them when the damage is already beyond repair.  Flavia holds Doctor and Master of Law degrees from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo.  She is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association and its Environmental Commission, and is responsible for international environmental issues at the Bar Association’s São Paulo branch.  She is a member of the São Paulo Federation of Industry and acts as an independent environmental law consultant for the public and private sectors.  She is also a professor at the Advertising and Marketing School of São Paulo, where she focuses on marketing business to business and developing green business directions.  Flavia is the author of several books and articles related to environmental issues, such as “Legal Aspects of the Clean Development Mechanisms in Brazil: The Kyoto Protocol and International Cooperation” (2002), the first work of its kind on Brazil.
