Dr Herman Vollebergh
Dr Herman Vollebergh is an economist researching the area of environmental and public economics. He is primarily interested in the way taxation and subsidies, and other market-based incentive mechanisms, affect companies and domestic households, and in how environmental policy affects technological change.
Dr Vollegergh is currently working with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the European Union and the Dutch government on the application of academic work to policy.
He recently compiled a literature review of the impact of environmental policy instruments on the development of technological change for the OECD, concluding that “environmental policy in general has an impact on at least the direction of technological change.”
Dr Vollebergh is a Senior Fellow at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. He was previously Assistant Professor at Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
