Jane Ollis

Jane Ollis is a Visiting Business Fellow for the academic year 2009-10.

Jane Ollis’ background and expertise is in the role of SME’s and their role in the transition to a low carbon economy. As Head of Sustainability at Business Support Kent, Jane leads a 15+ team working across the South East and Northern Europe, focused on translating complex environmental issues into actions that businesses can take that make sense today. Annually, the team engage with 6000+ companies, ranging from a light touch provision of information and advice through to more indepth support and guidance on new business models for a low carbon world.

Her specialist area of research is at the consumer end of the Government’s policy to decentralise energy supply and distribution. This involves developing business structures and risk models locally based on renewable projects to ensure they can successfully access finance and plan/deliver a successful project over the long term.
