World Forum
The World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment (WFEE) is rapidly becoming established as the leading international environmental conference. Each year the World Forum brings together 120 global decision makers and thinkers to explore the key challenges and critical milestones in our transition to sustainability. The key objective of the World Forum is to provide global leaders the opportunity to set out solutions today for the world of tomorrow.
This year the World Forum will be titled Re|Source 2012 and will focus on the challenges of managing food, water and energy resources. Confirmed speakers to date include President Bill Clinton, President Paul Kagame, Nobel laureate Amartya Sen, David Nabarro (UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative on Food Security and Nutrition) and Rear Admiral Neil Morisetti (Climate and Energy Security Envoy of the UK Ministry of Defence and FCO).
This exclusive event will bring together 250 of the world’s most influential thinkers and leaders. Interactive panel sessions will explore a number of issues including:
- How will resource scarcity and volatility affect global markets, business and society?
- What is the role of government in stimulating private sector investment with regards to resource issues?
- What would happen if resource subsidies were removed?
- How does military scenario planning take into account global food, energy and water supplies?
Re|Source 2012 is hosted by the University of Oxford and its Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, in co-operation with the Rothschild Foundation. Further information about Re|Source is available at www.resource2012.org.
