Dr Hannah Prior

Head of Research Development

Hannah is Head of Research Development at the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment where she leads on securing large-scale interdisciplinary research funding and programme strategy.

She works with senior academics, social enterprises and government and corporate leaders to create bespoke and innovative solutions-led research programmes focused on sustainability and the transition to Net Zero.

Hannah has over two decades experience of working on novel translational research models in environmental science, securing over £60m for new initiatives in this space.

Prior to the Smith School, she worked on the development of the NERC National Centre for Earth Observation and Satellite Application Catapult and was the architect for the Institute for Environmental Analytics at the University of Reading.

Hannah has a PhD in Biogeochemistry and works as a STEM Ambassador.
