In Lusaka Dr Susann Stritzke participated in the "Promoting the use of Clean Energy among the Women and Youth in Zambia" workshop organized by the Alliance for Accountability Advocates Zambia (AAAZ) hosted by Global Platforms Zambia.

Susann's presentation covered both the challenges and opportunities for rural electrification in Zambia including: status of the general energy market in Zambia, the tension between cost reflective energy tariffs and affordability; and innovative approaches to enhance energy access in the country.

Afterwards, the attending university students and local NGO members discussed the various ways young people and women in Zambia can contribute to achieving the SDG 7 (Access to Energy). This session contributed to the RISE aim of capacity building and knowledge-exchange with local stakeholders.
