Corporate venturing and alternative proteins
Food systems account for as much as one-third of all anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions could be reduced by decreasing the proportion of protein in our diets derived from animal proteins, in favour of alternative protein sources. Corporate investments into alternative proteins are becoming a significant source of capital funding to the sector. In this database, we introduce a systematic basis to track these investments. Our objective is to provide insights that support policy and market interventions that align with a net-zero emissions trajectory for food systems. The database is dynamic, longitudinal, searchable and open-source.
