Profile

Gian is the Programme Manager of REACH, a 9-year global research programme to improve water security and climate resilience for 10 million people in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, in an Oxford-led consortium of global leaders in water and climate science, policy and practice. As Programme Manager, Gian oversees programme delivery, ensuring effective and strategic systems and management, and nurturing relationships with the programme funder, partners and other stakeholders. 

Gian’s background is in international development and in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), with about fifteen years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, in technical and management capacities. Before joining REACH and the University of Oxford, he worked at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. Gian holds an MA in Philosophy (Roma Tre University) and an MSc in Water and Environmental Management (WEDC, Loughborough University).
