Nadia Schroeder

Head of Strategy and New Initiatives

Profile

Nadia Schroeder is the Head of Strategy and New Initiatives for the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.

Her work includes oversight of various internal projects to develop the School’s operations and research profile, as well as its engagement with policymakers and communities. She also contributes to a variety of research projects related to environmental politics, policymaking, and the governance of technology. Her academic interests focus on the discrepancy between the technological capacity to respond to climate change and the political, social, and economic challenges to deploying effective responses.

Prior to joining the Smith School Nadia worked at McKinsey and Company across Australasia and Europe, with a specialisation in environment, social, and public sector engagements. She previously also ran New Zealand’s leading charity for civics education, CivX.

Nadia holds a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of Auckland, and an MPhil in Politics and International Studies from the University of Cambridge.
