Research Associate in Machine Learning, Oxford Sustainable Finance Group

Profile

Neetu Kushwaha is a Research Associate in Machine Learning at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. Prior to this role, I worked as a Research Associate focused on sustainable finance at The Alan Turing Institute in London.  At The Alan Turing Institute, she contributed to the GeoAsset project, applying NLP and AI to develop open asset databases that track environmental impact and ownership structures across sectors like pulp and paper, waste, and petrochemicals.

Before her role in sustainable finance, Neetu worked as a postdoctoral researcher at INRIA’s IRISA research center in France, where she developed interpretable techniques and pattern-mining methods to understand deep neural networks. Neetu completed her Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee, where she focused on metaheuristic-based clustering algorithms for applications in text analysis and recommendation systems.

Her research interests include leveraging NLP and multimodal AI to address climate-related challenges, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, with a strong commitment to tackling sustainability and climate-related issues.
