Oladipo Okusaga is a diplomat specialising in energy and climate affairs, currently serving as the Head of Energy and Climate at the British embassy in Washington DC. With a robust background, Oladipo previously held the pivotal role of Head of Energy - Middle East and North Africa at the UK Foreign Office, focusing on energy security and transition within the MENA region. Notably, he represented the UK as an Executive Board Member at the International Energy Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Oladipo's experience also extends to navigating the UK-Europe relationship at the UK energy department. He played a pivotal role in delivering UK Brexit preparations, ensuring readiness for life outside the European Union across various sectors, including government, devolved administrations, business, and academia.
Before his diplomatic career, Oladipo excelled as a consultant, leading key projects across the private sector. His expertise spanned diverse sectors including property, infrastructure, and natural resources, catering to esteemed clients such as Heathrow Airport, Shell, Chevron, and others. This consultancy experience honed his skills in project and programme management advisory.
Complementing his practical experience, Oladipo holds an MSc in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Project and Enterprise Management from University College London (UCL), and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Aston University.
