Overview

There is significant and growing interest from policymakers and regulators globally in sustainable finance and investment: specifically, how to mobilise capital at the scale and pace needed to achieve net zero and sustainable development policy goals, as well as how to ensure the resilience of the financial system to increasing climate and environment-related risks.

Japan’s financial institutions are a major part of the global financial system and will play a key role in achieving these aims in Japan, across Asia, and internationally. Japanese policymakers and regulators will have a key role in shaping their responses to climate change and sustainable development.

The University of Oxford is delivering a free introductory sustainable finance course for Japanese policymakers and regulators on the 27th March 2023 in Tokyo, Japan.

The course will support the work of participants in greening the Japanese financial system and scaling the deployment of capital into green assets. It will provide participants with an understanding of sustainable finance, and enable them to apply concepts to their roles within the public sector.

The course is delivered by expert faculty from the University of Oxford, together with carefully selected partners.
