Paris 2.0: Reinventing Climate Leadership in Turbulent Times

Our flagship University of Oxford World Forum on Enterprise & the Environment is back on Tuesday 29 September. This year’s theme, “Paris 2.0: Reinventing Climate Leadership in Turbulent Times,” will explore how meaningful progress towards the goals of the Paris Agreement can be achieved amidst the current geopolitical turmoil.

Throughout the day, we will examine whether emerging forms of leadership - ranging from international alliances and ambitious ‘coalitions of the willing’ to the influence of individual actors - can compensate for the fragmentation of the global trade order and still deliver a just and effective transition. The Forum will conclude with a signature Oxford‑style debate asking if the world can make greater progress on climate action without the United States at the table.

The World Forum convenes exceptional leaders from policy, business, civil society, and academia – those with the influence and expertise to shape the trajectory of global climate action. If you feel you could add valuable insight to our 2026 World Forum, either as a participant or as a partner, we encourage you to apply here.
