Oxford Smith School Summer Celebration

We’re delighted to announce that the Smith School Summer Celebration will take place this year at Worcester College on Friday 5 June — a flagship moment in our calendar that brings our community together to reflect, reconnect, and look ahead.

This annual event recognises the people and ideas driving change, celebrates our students and alumni, and reaffirms the Smith School’s role as a catalyst for impact.

Here’s what awaits:

  • Game-changing insights from researchers tackling today’s most urgent climate and sustainability challenges
  • A proud farewell to our MSc graduates — the next generation of leaders and innovators
  • Alumni stories that inspire ambition and demonstrate real-world impact
  • Dynamic networking with colleagues, partners, students and supporters shaping what comes next

The afternoon opens with a fast-paced lightning round of impact snapshots, showcasing research and engagement from post-doctoral and early-career researchers working across areas such as net zero, sustainable finance, food systems, law, behavioural economics and regenerative economics — followed by moderated discussion and audience Q&A.

This year marks a major milestone: five years of educating changemakers. A panel discussion will reflect on the journey of the MSc — where it began, how it has grown, and where it’s heading next.  Scaling for new horizons.

The evening concludes with a drinks reception — time to reconnect, meet new faces, and continue conversations sparked throughout the afternoon in a relaxed setting.

Let’s celebrate success — and spark what’s next.
